5 Tips for Styling a Small Space

Decorating in a small space can be tricky. We’re giving you the secrets to maximizing your décor in a small space. It’s incredible what we can do in limited space with a touch of creativity. Here are 5 rules for styling a small space.
  1. Layers
Even toned rooms fool the eye into thinking they're more spacious than they are but make sure to add a variety of layers and textures to keep the space from falling flat. Try a pattered rug, or a painting instead of a print on your walls. Floral is a great way to layer and add texture - dried or fresh!
  1. Natural Light
Good lighting will make or break any room–big or small. Always opt for natural lighting but if that’s not an option, a one of a kind lamp can make a big statement in a small space!
  1. Mirrors
It's the oldest design trick in the book. Mirrors will make your space feel larger, lighter, and airier. And a fun mirror can add a lot of personality without taking up a ton of space.
  1. Play with Scale
There’s no need to use tiny furniture or decor in a small space. Choose a few statement pieces that will really stand out! You can use regular-size furniture and large-scale art; you’ll just need to use fewer pieces in the room overall.
  1. Edit Yourself
You don't have to display everything. After all, nothing makes a room feel smaller than clutter. Even a windowsill can provide extra surface area for decor, lighting, and other essentials but don’t over do it.
