We’re all optimistic as to what 2021 will look like, because, let’s face it, anything will be better than 2020! This year we’re focusing more on self-reflection and self care. We’ve created our top 5 list of easy self care ideas in 2021!
1. Create a cozy spot
Surround yourself with things that bring you joy. Find a place in your home that you can make serene. A place to go to escape the pressures of work, family, the pandemic and this unpredictable time in life. It could be as simple as a nice candle with a special cocktail glass on a side table in your coziest chair. Whatever it is, do it for you.
2. Get outside
Research in a growing scientific field called ecotherapy has shown a strong connection between time spent in nature and reduced stress, anxiety, and depression. It’s easy to get stuck in a continuous loop of negative thoughts when your entire life has been uprooted by a never ending pandemic. Nature can have a soothing effect so you are less filled with worry. Nature can have a powerful effect on our mental state.
3. Start a skincare routine
One thing that keeps me grounded after a long, stressful day is my skin care routine. The feeling of literally wiping the day off is so refreshing and it can make me feel like a brand new person.

5. Call a friend
This might be the most obvious one, but also the hardest to do. How do we achieve intimacy without proximity? How do you keep up friendships when you haven’t been able to see each other in months? Face-timing or Zoom calling friends is essential to your health. Regularly connecting with friends and family will give you an automatic energy boost!
